AirAsia to suspend Miri – Kuala Terengganu route

KUALA LUMPUR: Low-cost carrier, AirAsia will suspend its three times Miri - Terengganu route from June 1 due to commercial reasons.

AirAsia, however, said it would offer passengers with booking after this date an option to move their flights to an earlier date at no extra charge and subject to availability, credit shell for the value paid within 180 days of validity or a full refund.

Passengers would be notified by registered member's email account, SMS notification or phone call, whichever is available, the airline said in a statement.

They are advised to keep their email addresses and mobile number with country code prefix updated in AisAsia's member profiles for easy reach, it added.

ABOUT KOTA BHARU AIRPORT

The Kota Bharu Airport or officially known as Kota Bharu Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) is located about eight kilometres away from Kota Bharu's city centre, Kelantan, Malaysia. LTSIP is the busiest airport in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Apart from the six international airports in Malaysia, i.e. KLIA, KKIA, PIA, KIA, Johor Bahru Senai International Airport (LTAS) and Langkawi International Airport (LIA), Kota Bharu Airport also capable of handling international or foreign flights. This airport have also been declared as gateway to Malaysia. This airport fulfill the guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) under Annex 9, which pertains to customs, immigration, and quarantine (CIQ) facilitation.

(an electrical home appliances shop which is located next to Kota Bharu Bus Station in Jalan Hilir Pasar) with fare around MYR20.00 - MYR25.00 per taxi or take city bus (City Liner bus) from Kota Bharu Bus Station to go to airport and vice-versa.

E-hailing service, i.e. GrabCar, Air Asia Ride and Maxim also available to and from this airport via Door/Pintu C (main foyer) especially from Kota Bharu city centre and its outskirts such as Wakaf Bharu, Cahaya Bulan Beach (PCB), Kubang Kerian, Pasir Tumboh, Bandar Baharu Tunjong, Wakaf Che Yeh, Panji, Pulau Melaka and Kota Jembal (formerly known as Kedai Lalat).
