MALACCA: The expansion of Malacca Airport, a better road system and improved healthcare facilities are among the items on the 2016 Budget wishlist for Malacca.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said he hoped that the budget would have allocations for the construction of several facilities needed in the state.
“We need to extend the runway at our airport from 2,135 metres to 2,508 metres. The whole project is going to cost more than RM200 million.
“We are also hoping for a substantive amount from the federal government to develop a new government hospital to replace the Malacca General Hospital,” he said.
He said additional road infrastructure, essential for alleviating traffic congestion was needed and the state government was hoping to get allocations for development of a coastal road connecting Kuala Linggi and Telok Mas and more flyovers to ease traffic congestion in the city.
