PETALING JAYA: Passengers at the KL International Airport (KLIA) found themselves stuck waiting after technical problems caused the aerotrains linking the main terminal building to the satellite terminal to stop working.
Images started appearing on social media earlier on Monday showing a large number of passengers gathering at the terminal, as they waited for the aerotrains at KLIA to arrive.
In a statement issued by Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), the company said that it had activated busses to ferry passengers between the main terminal building and the satellite terminal.
The statement added that announcements had been made every five minutes on the situation.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our team is working towards the speedy rectification of the aerotrains,” said MAHB.
A spokesperson for MAHB said that the aerotrains had stopped working at around 1pm but added that one of the aerotrains at the airport was operating as usual as of 2.58 pm.
