KUALA LUMPUR: Firefly will increase the flight frequencies on its Penang - Kota Bharu route from May 1 to October 24 this year, to meet demand.
The additional frequencies will be offered twice daily, with the total number of weekly flights increased from seven to 14 and weekly seats from 1,008 to 2,448.
In a statement today, Firefly said this move was in line with Tourism Malaysia's initiative to promote domestic tourism.
"There are many educational and cultural-based attractions in Kota Bharu that parents and their young children can do together over the weekend or during school holidays. Penang is also a great family destination with plenty of family-oriented activities," Firefly chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said.
Firefly continues to offer promotional all-inclusive one-way fares on all its domestic routes.
Tickets are available for sale through Firefly's website, Firefly's ticketing offices and all travel agents.
